The Lorenzo Vecchio Award is named after the creator of Magma, who died at the young age of twenty-three after directing the first three festival editions. The award is given by the Jury to the best short film of the festival.

A cultural project that for 2 years has added value to the local area showcasing the best of International short films.
During the 22nd edition the Lorenzo Vecchio Award went to the Iranian short film File by Sonia K. Hadad; the Audience Award went to Nothing Holier than a Dolphin by Isabella Margara. Special mentions went to La Perra, animated short film by Carla Melo Gampert, and Carpenter, documentary directed by Xelîl Sehragerd.
